Lewis Hamilton declared himself ready for the new F1 season as he showed off his supreme physique before next weekend’s Bahrain Grand Prix.
Seven-time world champion Hamilton has kept in flawless shape during the off-season as he gears up for lights out on his 17th F1 campaign. The legendary Brit is feeling fresh and rejuvenated as he hopes to reignite his epic title rivalry with Red Bull’s Max Verstappen this year.
Mercedes hero Hamilton went a whole year without a race win for the first time in his career during a miserable 2022 season – finishing sixth in the overall drivers standings. He was even outscored by new Silver Arrows teammate George Russell as dominant Verstappen cruised to 15 Grand Prix victories.
But the relentless 38-year-old Hamilton has quickly put a disappointing season behind him and will hope the new Mercedes W14 car will prove competitive enough to challenge for silverware.
And the veteran driver certainly looks ready for battle ahead of a bumper 23-race calendar in 2023. Hamilton shared a topless selfie flaunting his peak physical condition on his Instagram story with the caption: “Ready.”
He has managed to maintain his jet-setting lifestyle away from the track with various vacations during F1’s break, even enjoying a birthday trip to Antarctica last month.
But he is about to resume his latest adventure in the sport as fans eagerly await to find out who will have the early-season advantage between his Mercedes, Red Bull and Ferrari in Bahrain.
“Right now, I’m just trying to live in the moment,” Hamilton told Sky Sports at Mercedes’ W14 launch. “I’m trying to just be happy.
“I’m trying to just enjoy my my job. I’m trying to elevate myself, spiritually, mentally and physically, to be the best driver and to really try and reach my full potential always.
“I love working with the team. This has been my life for such a long time. I feel currently fit enough and deserving of my position so I’m going to continue to go for a bit!
